Description and photo of the dugout designed by Pam & Jenny

Here is a photo of a dugout built by specialists from the graphic design bureau Pam & Jenny. They needed an extra studio, but one that didn’t take up much of the already small courtyard at their headquarters in the small Belgian commune of Uccle.

As a result, it was decided to build a compact structure at the foot of a small slope. The house is half hidden underground.

This is a creative workshop built with the same materials and in the same style as the main building. The architects preferred to make it part of the hill, instead of cutting it off and disturbing the natural landscape.

Almost all components of the dugout are made of birch plywood. This material perfectly retains heat, eliminating the need for builders to use drywall. Plywood structures do not need to be painted and usually receive only minor damage when flooded.

Before us is a beautiful, inexpensive and environmentally friendly object, which, in our opinion, is capable of inspiring creativity in itself.
