Original and laconic interior of a small house
The interior of the small house LeJeune Residence is a stylish, practical and concise solution that, for all its beauty, makes every room visually spacious.
The building is located in Montreal, in the south of Canada, in the Plateau-Mont-Royal area, which is one of the most creative centers of the city. The house was built in 1890, and its historical image is extremely important for the residents, so it needed reconstruction.
In 2013, the architect Maxim Moreo set to work on the restoration and renovation of the building. It was important for him to take into account the wishes of the owners of the house, who wanted to preserve the overall image of the building, which is a real family heirloom.
The owners of the building are a couple of professional photographers, so the new interior was created taking into account the creative direction of its inhabitants.
To maintain the original state of the exterior of the house, its walls were painted black. This made the building style more modern, but without loss in terms of historical value.
835 square feet of interior space is not much for the average house in Canada, so the main task of the architect was to organize the interior in such a way that it seemed and felt more spacious than it actually was.
For this, special materials and colors were used, which allowed, in addition to the main goal, to add freshness and sensuality to the design.
The space has been expanded thanks in large part to the glass wall that separates the courtyard from the living room. It makes the interior visually more spacious, while adding more natural light to the house.
It is especially nice to have such a wall in winter, when on snowy cold days and nights you can see all the splendor of this season, but at the same time the room is warm and cozy.
The main gamma is made in white and gray shades. The floor is usually made of laminate or tile (bathroom). It is impossible not to mention the wooden staircase, which, despite its age, serves faithfully to its owners.
As a result of the repair, it has become even more beautiful and shiny, although no major changes have occurred.
